I've had the Duo V2 for a few years now. It is definitely outside any 12 month warranty period. It would appear the usb ports are fine, the drives are dead. I'm not using usb attached drives anymore.
Here's a speculation. The usb drives were going full on for months and months. When I ended up with issues on the nas, it had to be reset and it was that power down and up that uncovered issues with the drives. I've seen it happen before where drives that have worked flawlessly for an extednded period of time die the first time they are power cycled.
