Drives from RN102 to 314

Hi,

Just upgraded from a 102 to 314. The 102 has the latest FW so will the 2TB drives from the 102 be recognised by the 314? I don't want to lose the data.

Any ideas?

Pete

Assuming the disks are not encrypted...

    1. Install a scratch disk in the 314, and then upgrade to the same OS as the RN102 (likely 6.4.1).  Then remove the disk and shut down.  (the scratch disk will be wiped).

    2. Uninstall all apps on the RN102.

    3. Put the two RN102 disks in (keeping the same order) and do an OS reinstall from the front panel.  That should preserve all data/settings - it will reset the admin password back to "password", and change the network setting to use dhcp.

    4. Change the admin password back (and also the IP configuration if desired) and reinstall any desired apps.

It is best to make an up-to-date backup before you do this.

Sounds good. I'll try that when the 2 new 4TB drives finally finish synching. Thanks very much.
