There are a couple of ways to do it.
I have set up my Nv+ with exactly the same users and shares as my 316, then I have one rsync pull backup job for each share that runs daily.
If you do it this way, run the first backup as nfs, then change the backup type to rsync for the future incremental backups. Rsync on the nv+ is a bit slow for a full backup but works well for incrementals. The help section in Frontview on the backup jobs tab will tell you how to setup the paths.
You could also setup rsync push jobs on the 314, but there is a small problem with these at present as the destination folder ends up being a subfolders of the share in question. I think Netgear may fix this sometime.
The advantage of pulling data is that you can schedule power on the nv+ for a 10 minute period each day, set all the backup jobs to run 5 minutes after power on. The nas will complete all the jobs however long they take then power itself down. This minimises up time for the backup nas.
Probably best for you to have an attempt now and post back with any specific problems. You'll learn more that way.
