Duo V1, new install with new hdd - 0Mb available - ntfs ?!?
Hi everyone,
i am currently running in an issue with my duo. I was running a single 1Tb drive, and switched to a single 2Tb drive. I installed the latest raidiator software 4.1.12 successfully, i can access the device from the http console, BUT the disk shows 0% space available out of 0Mb.
I searched through the forums and someone said to do a disk check, which i did. Nothing changed.
The disk is a SAMSUNG HD204UI , and is known to work on this device. I dont really know what to do ... it is a fresh install, i activated DLNA and NFS, nothing more i believe. i can see the /backup and /media folders from my computer, but cant access them.
I guess i am missing something but cant see what. Please, help ? Thanks !

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserAre the shared folders set to allow "everyone" read/write access?
- vandermerweMasterHave you activated smb or cifs on the duo?
It doesn't sound like the disk has been added properly, however the fact that you can see shares suggests that there is a volume.
Have you tried rebooting, or if here is no data on the drive, doing a factory default? - CroustibatAspirantI just checked and the default access is set to read/write for nfs and cifs. I have no users defined yet, except admin.
I also turned off the apple talk protocol, no apple products at home.
I have CIFS activated yes, and NFS. I tried to reboot. The install is fresh (like 40 mins fresh) - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserI don't think he added a drive. It sounds like he pulled the single existing drive and installed a different one.
If so, of course there would be no data. It should be possible to access the two shares using NAS admin credentials - though they would be empty. - CroustibatAspirantSo i just tried to add a user, and it failed.
message is "Pas de système de fichiers disponible pour le partage. [tayst]"
which is translated to "no available filesystem for the share.[tayst]" .
Looks like the duo does not like 2Tb drives ?
Edit: yes i pulled the previous 1Tb drive and switched to a new 2Tb one and upgraded to new raidiator right after.
Edit 2 : i launched a new raidiator install. If it does not work i will try a factory reset.
Any other idea ? I could try to enable ssh and check "from the inside" maybe. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserThe duo should be fine with 2 tb drives (I have two installed in mine).
Maybe pull the drive, delete the partitions and try again?
Though maybe check the disk health (SMART stats) and the volume status first. - CroustibatAspirantI have seen reports of the duo V1 working with this drive, so it should be ok. I checked SMART too before tinkering around, nothing special there, no errors. I have no idea so i will just do it again.
If it still fail, i will ssh into it and df - fdisk to see. - vandermerweMasterI realise OP replaced rather than added drive, just didn't appear to have registered any volume available "0% of 0mb available"
Can I ask OP:why are you using a single drive and do you have a backup of the data that is kept on this drive?
I have exactly that drive in a sparc unit and it works perfectly, so unless the drive is faulty it's not going to be the drive type or size. - CroustibatAspirantI have another NAS that backs up this one should it go down, which i find way more effective than a raid setup. I dont need the high availability of a raid array (besides i dont consider raid mirroring as really usable. If i had to build a raid array, that would be raid 5 which the duo cant do)
I also have another 2Tb USB drive as an offline backup.
There is currently no data on this drive (except raidiator install i suppose).
The nas has just finished installing raidiator software again. I can see in raidar software that i have a yellow light on volume status, while i have a green light on drive status. - CroustibatAspirantOh wow. It got even worse. It looks like it does not even show the interface now. Factory reset, is that it ?
edit: i am going to check the drive on another computer.
edit: restarted and i have the same as before,0 out of 0.
i have this in the journal entry:
The paths for the shares listed below could not be found. Typically, this occurs when the ReadyNAS is unable to access the data volume. media backup
I am going to go ssh / fdisk.
