[Duo V2] [FTP] Some users can acess shares, others cannot

Hi,

I set up an FTP access to 2 of my shares. Forwarded ports in router, etc.

It seems to work OK... with some users only !

I have 2 users, that I will call John and Jack.

Using filezilla client, if if I log myself in using John's user id and password, I can actually access the 2 shares for which I activated the FTP.

If I log in using Jack's user id and PW, I does connect to the server (no error message) but I cannot see any share.

Both users are set to have exactly the same rights...

What is going on ?

[Edit: rebooted the NAs, lost FTP settings, set them up again ; now, my fist user can log in, all the others get a 530 incorrect login error.]

Any help ?

  • I too, have a Duo V2 which I bought last March 6, 2013. I set up FTP on one share so that my surveilance cameras can use ftp to store their video and snapshots. But when I test the ftp from a dos prompt I get a "530 Login incorrect" error even though I login with the appropriate user credential that I have setup and given access to the ftp folder. I talked to support today and he was not able to give me a resolution to the problem. He asked me to reboot my duo v2 which I did but it did not solve the problem.

I also have a duo v1 which is now being slowly retired because I have but because the ftp service in the duo v2 is not working, I have to still continue using the v1 for my cameras.

I think I made a mistake in buying the duo v2.
  • One thing that I have to mention: anonymous is allowed to login but because there is no share that is accessible via ftp protocol with "Everyone" checked, the successful anonymous login does not have any visible folder during the login session!

    Netgear - wakeup!!!
