Duo won't boot, how to proceed?

I'm pretty sure I have a Duo v1.
I believe I did the skip FSCK correctly, but it's still doing the same; power light is steadily blinking.
What LEDs am I looking to flash? The two HD lights? After I powered it on & held the button, I saw the two HD lights blink once & that's when I released the power button.
Should I pull Disk 1, which is supposed to be the bad one? If I re-insert it later, will it re-sync though?
