Email addy req'd to install v5.3.5?
Can anyone please tell me WHY I MUST give the RAIDiator Installer an Email Address to install this F/W? I can not get by this initial screen. Is there some 'pass-thru' but inactive, address I can us...

Yes. Usually you can still access the files with a failing disk. And RAIDAR/Radiator will show the drives as fully functional(green status) even if they have hundreds of reallocated sectors - at least that is the case on the V1 and X86 platforms. If the alerts are turned off, the only way you know a drive is going bad is by manually reviewing the logs or the SMART stats. In NASNoob's case that could take a full month. Personally I want to know right away, so I can pop in a spare before the array fails.

Not exactly. If you have a pending drive failure, you should receive alerts if the e-mail alerts are set up. If you have a drive failure, you would also receive alerts, yet can still access the shares via Network Neighborhood and RAIDar would also be able to see the NAS would would on the display indicate the drive that had failed. Only if the array is degraded would your statement be true...
