Either way an email is sent (though it might be blocked by your email host if you use the internal server).
StephenB,
Thank you. I sorta understand this, but, remain confused between the DUO's Internal SMTP server, and/or, an External (?) SMTP server. Clearly my bad. In any case, even this does not solve my issue with the 'alerts' logic I can NOT disable on my new DUO-V2 using f/w 5.3.5.
You also mention 'email host.' Again confusion!
Any email 'alert' my DUO-V2 might send, via Internal or External, must go out of my home via my router to my ISP for process back to my Inbox; unless I have missed something. I do not operate a home mail server. And, I see little advantage to muck with Mozilla/Thunderbird 13.0.1 to create a special 'Inbox' for any future DUO 'alert' emails. Besides, even to allow this DUO Alert logic to work, I still have to enter my very personal email credentials into Dashboard to even work. Perhaps other NG users do not have a security issue with this. I do! Let's agree this business in just my own privacy issue.
Therefore this DUO-V2 will show up in the forum Marketplace in due time. I may move to a pair of Ultra 2's, or, some other vendor. I will raise my original {alerts] issue in the RAIDiator 4.2.21 (x86) area after I spend some research time reading 'x86' related issues/concerns...........
I will, first, reset my DUO-V2 yet again and try to get it to a level that it operates only as a "backup" target for my DUO-V1. I believe I am tired of fighting with the DUO-V2's 'Dashboard' logic also. No harm, no foul!
