RAIDiator (heavily customised Debian Linux) is fine. The bug with 4.2.19 has been fixed in 4.2.20 (it will stop the issue from reoccurring but won't fix any problem caused by the bug). What you should've done would've been to contact NetGear tech support (http://www.readynas.com/forum) for assistance resolving the problem if simply renaming the share and naming it back again didn't work.
