encryption on readyNas 104

hello. Is it possible to encrypt the data on the readyNAS? is it possible to encrypt the backup of readyNAS data to an external drive? how to do that? I didn't find it in the settings.

Yes, though I think there will be a performance impact.

    No.

One workaround is to store your most sensistive files in an encrypted container on the NAS.  For instance, veracrypt, or Microsoft VHD.  Since the encryption key is only known by the client PC, then container is encrypted everywhere (on all disks and also over the network).  One disadvantage is that these containers aren't designed for multiuser access - just one client device at a time.
