Per CS directions I powered down the unit and restarted it. The units power button was non-responsive so I was unable to power down the unit gracefully. I pulled the power plug, waited 30 seconds and then plugged it back in. I then pressed the power button and after going through a series messages ("Booting.. Updating FW", "Booting", ReadyNAS 6.4.1")the unit started working normally. I am now able to access it as before.
I sent CS the logs to review. Maybe they will be able to determine something. If they do I will post here.
Maybe I was overly cautious on this one, but IMO better to be safe than sorry. I am just happy that it came back without any issues. I will be sure to pay closer attention and make sure I have a current backup prior to updating the firmware in the future.
