It’s also possible that your UPS could be faulty or too low aspec to be able to output enough power for what the NAS needs.
Which UPS do you have?

Its an APC Backup 550.
However we did have a hurricane here in Florida not too long ago in 2017 and I was without power for like 12 days and I was using the UPS and small backup generator to keep my fish tank alive. So maybe the UPS is overly stressed and not in perfect condition however I do use it for a smaller Readynas NV+(4-drive) and it has always seems to have worked just fine.
Anyway, it appears there was not enough power to turn on the hard drives. Perhaps I should get a better UPS and try that?
Right now its seem to be working fine while plugged directly into a wall but that is not a good long term solution.
