Does this also happen using AFP? If you will turn off AV, will it make a difference?

The first image below shows the files when browsing via the Netgear Admin page. The following image shows what can be seen in Finder ... After a long wait one of three options is possible - no files show in Finder, all files show in Finder, or you get kicked out of the shared folder and cannot acces it until you disconnect from the Shared Folder and connect again.
