Error restoring from Snapshot: LOGMSG_FSSNAP_RESTORE_FAILED
I received this error message trying to restore a file from two different snapshots. Downloaded the logs from today, but there are 86 of them, and I don't know where to look as to the exact culprit. ...

Well, if it is a complete copy, then it should contain at least 2.54TB of data.

As Sandshark says, that is not how they work. When they are first created, they take no space (another way to say this is that data blocks in snapshot and the share are all held in common).
As files are rewritten (or deleted), the changed blocks are no longer shared. The original blocks are only in the snapshot, the new blocks are only in the main share.

My files were deleted, and I assumed that a prior snapshot would contain them. Apparently I was wrong..
Were there snapshots in the main share? Did you try right-clicking on the folder in files were in,and look in "restore previous versions"?

The files showed up in the Snapshot, they were NOT in Windows Explorer (nor Mac Finder), as these folders were now empty. I clicked the Restore button (the file was the proper date/size), and received the error message.
Now that I have re-created the files, they no longer show up in the the last two days of snapshots (as they were created, and then modified the same day). But I bet if I change the FLAC artwork on one of them, it should be in the snapshot that will be taken tomorrow morning.
I suppose if I create and delete a file between snapshots, it will not appear. Yet, these files showed up in two days of snapshots.
I truly thought that any deleted file would show up in the snapshot. I do have notes from 2015 that I restored one or more files from this same share: /Volumes/Music/xxx/xxx Original/Jazz/Dave Grusin.
(BTW: xxx is used instead of M P 3, as that is not allowed in the text)

If the file was in the share when the snapshot was taken, then it should have been in the snapshot after it was deleted (and the version in the snapshot should have been preserved if the original was modified).
Did you have a backup of the share?

This was restore in the web ui? Or using the right-click in explorer?
Did you see other errors in system.log or kernel.log around that time? Particularly disk-related or btrfs errors.

I haven't run into issues with using mp3 (or MP3) here.

The file was in the snapshot for a couple of days. It was in the snapshot after deletion, but the web ui link gave the error message.
I found nothing in the logs except what I put in my post.
I could not put the path of one of the .m p 3 files in one of my posts. Got an error message when I tried to post. Hence the xxx replacement.
In fact, I got this when posting: "The message body contains m p 3, which is not permitted in this community. Please remove this content before sending your post." So, I put spaces in the above paragraph. And, I also have to change the message I inserted, as it contains the offending string of characters.
I had a copy on my MacBook of all the FLAC files in the folder.
