Error when attempting to delete snapshots

Good morning,

I am having issues when attempting to manually delete snapshots from our ReadyNAS. The error that is displaying when it does fail is 28004020002. After searching through your forums it seems most of the time you request logs and then it appears the problem gets fixed. So if need be i do have logs available upon request.

One of the suggestions also says to attempt a defrag on the device and that comes up and displays another error: 14007010000. I am not sure if that is related but i have not dug to deep into that one as i would like help with the first issue first please :)

All feedback is greatly appreciated.

This is the topic that i was looking at earlier to try and help with my issue.

  • Fixed.

Please do not reboot the system until the balance has completed. The balance will take some time to complete.

You can see the progress in the web admin interface.

Furthermore you can schedule a balance to be run say every 2-3 weeks.

  • What readynas model is this?

    When did you buy it?

    What firmware is on it?

Try disabling all services except https on the System/Settings tab, disabling snapshot access (in the share properties dialogue box) for the share in question, rebooting, then trying the delete again.

This is a fairly commonly reported issue which seems to frequently require remote access by support.

    Hello jhoffer101,

Have you already tried disabling Snapshot then delete the snapshots already?

Please provide model number of the NAS and the current firmware version.

If you have recently updated the firmware, what is version prior to the update?

    Regards,

  • The model number is a ReadyNAS 31400

    Firmware 6.2.4

The firmware was probably updated around the time we started to have issues.

I will attempt the solutions below to see if that fixes it.

I would suggest opening a support ticket with Netgear support.  I suspect the suggestions we have made will not work.
