Fan Problem After Upgrading To 6.5.0
Good Evening Community Members, Today I upgraded my RN314 to the 6.5.0 firmware. I really like some of the new features that have been added however I am now getting a strange problem with my fan on...

Each time the fan jumps to a new RPM level (there are 7 possible levels based on various temperature readings), it must calibrate the fan for that RPM level once each boot. During that calibration period, which should take between a few seconds and 3 minutes, you may hear the fan speed up or slow down more than normal. But once that is done, it should be stable.
We've also made some additional changes for 6.5.1 to take advantage of some hardware capabilities which should allow use to make fan adjustments more smoothly.

Good Evening mdgm,
The fan mode was in 'Quiet' when it was going crazy.
Logs sent in as requested.
Cheers and thanks :)

We've made a small modification locally on your box. Please report back if you see any more strange fan behavior.

Good Morning,
I dont know if this is related to any change that has been made, but, at 12:34am I received an alert via email indicating;
12:34am ReadyNAS Alert Message (ReadyNAS-314 System: Notice) External storage device connected.
12:34am ReadyNAS Alert Message (ReadyNAS-314 Backup: Notice) Cancelled backup job READYNAS_Documents Folder Backup
03:23am ReadyNAS Alert Message (ReadyNAS-314 System: Notice) External storage device connected.
03:39 ReadyNAS Alert Message (ReadyNAS-314 System: Notice) External storage device connected.
03:44 ReadyNAS Alert Message (ReadyNAS-314 System: Notice) External storage device connected.
All the backup jobs within the backup tab indicated yellow and cancled at 00:33:18 & 00:34:39
In the log it is indicating that ReadyNASOS service or process (journalctl) was restarted @ 00:33:12 and at 03:44:11 ReadyNASOS background service started
I dont know if this helps or not?

Good Morning Skywalker,
Just wanted to let you know that at 1203pm (AEST (Melbourne/Australia) the ReadyNas 314 fans wen nuts again. The Fans sped up for about 1 min and after around 20 seconds came back down. Within the Status tab it was showing fan failure again. Now it has settled back down and fans are back to 797RPM and the Status indicates Green (Healthy). Fan profile is 'Quiet'.
Cheers
