File listing in Windows Explorer is missing files
Hi, I wonder if some bright spark out there could throw light on a recent file listing problem I am experiencing with Windows Explorer. I can connect to my ReadyNas Duo from my iPhone and iPad using the ReadyNAS Remote and I can see every folder and file in a share that contains all of my work files (eg PDF's, Word files, CAD files etc). Al of these files all show when I access the share from my PC via a webpage (eg http://nasipaddress/share) and from my laptop wirelessly. I therefore know that all of the files are there and can be opened.
My problem is if I access the share via Windows Explorer from my PC and laptop. I can see the majority of folders and files but some do not show. There appears to be no specific pattern to this. Some files that I create appear instantly whilst others haven't appeared for a month. I've not (knowingly) changed access permissions or user credentials.
For your information the ReadyNAS is hard-wired to my PC via a gigabit switch connected to my router. The files are saved to my PC and Quickshadow then copies them to the share on the NAS. The Duo Raidiator firmware is 4.1.9-T2 and Raidar is version 4.3.4.
I would extremely grateful for any assistance.
Thank you

- theboyroyAspirantUPDATE:
I've spent some more time tinkering with some settings. I had wondered whether user rights were causing the problem since ReadyNAS Remote uses a different user to access the share from the PC and laptop. I have tried changing the ownership of parent folders to that of the PC user and then replacing child permissions with parent permissions to no avail. I have also tried setting permissions of the parent folder to full control but that didn't help either. I tried logging into the webshare (as described above) with both usernames and it correctly displays all of the files and folders so I've concluded that the permissions and ownerships are all in order.
In Frontview>>Share Listing>>Advanced Share Permission I have ticked 'Set ownership and permission for existing files and folders to the above settings...' (nobody/nogroup) but that has had no effect.
If I copy one of the parent folders to another location, Windows moves the correct number of files and folders so I can't work out why it won't display them all in Explorer. Thinking that maybe Windows isn't indexing the share I've tried to add the share to Windows Index Options in Control Panel but it won't allow me presumably because I can't make the share available offline.
So, I'm still drawing a blank. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks. - theboyroyAspirantAlso, Raidiator version is 4.1.10.
