Cannot access NAS in Windows Explorer
Seems this occurs on the forum regularly, but I have tried all of the suggested solutions and nothing works.
I am trying to access the NAS drives from Windows Explorer from a Windows 10 Pro machine using the admin account. I CAN access the NAS using the ReadyNAS cloud account, but I also want to access using the admin account.
I have aligned the domains to WORKGROUP. I have deleted any Windows Credentials Manager references. I have tried using the \\IPaddress and \\hostname in the Windows Explorer bar. I have tried a range of SMB settings in the NAS. I have run net use commands:
net use * /delete /y net use t: \\192.168.1.132\data /user:admin nas-admin-password
using my own IP and password. I get:
System error 86 has occurred. The specified network password is not correct.
I have treble checked the password and it is correct.
I have checked in Powershell and SMB1 is enabled:
PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName smb1protocol FeatureName : SMB1Protocol DisplayName : SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support Description : Support for the SMB 1.0/CIFS file sharing protocol, and the Computer Browser protocol. RestartRequired : Possible State : Enabled CustomProperties : ServerComponent\Description : Support for the SMB 1.0/CIFS file sharing protocol, and the Computer Browser protocol. ServerComponent\DisplayName : SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support ServerComponent\Id : 487 ServerComponent\Type : Feature ServerComponent\UniqueName : FS-SMB1 ServerComponent\Deploys\Update\Name : SMB1Protocol
Any other suggestions? Help!
Thanks,
Jon

Unreal... in some vague attempt to reset everything, I just tried changing the password to exactly the same password it already was and everything worked.
The previous password was working for web access and SSH, but for some strange reason wasn't working for SMB sharing... reset it back to itself and bingo!
Thanks for all your help!

Is the NAS admin password still set to the default password? You can't map the data volume using the default admin credentials.
Also, is your data volume actually named data? That is the default for XRAID, but if you set the NAS up using flexraid you might have a different volume name.

Hi Stephen,
No credentials have been changed from default.
I have exactly the same issue for both my RN104 NASs, so it's not even just a strange corruption by the looks...
Yes, I used the default for XRAID and it is named /data.
Thanks,
