Hi, we're using a ReadyNAS NVX with 4.2.5 Each time a user with Win7x64 opens an office file, edits and saves it afterwards, the file becomes read only for this specific user. We're working with Ac...

Hi All,
I am also having the same issue as above, I have found a workaround it seems for my setup although this issue has just reared its head which is odd.. I have Readynas Pro 6 (4.2.17 firmware) joined to an Active Directory domain of Server 2008 domain and forest functional level.
I have a top level share (DATA) ACL'ed as per the following link: http://www.readynas.com/?p=1987 the folders underneath (Users and Operations) are ACL'ed also as per the link with the domain groups for all staff and domain admins with full control upon them propagated through the stack. Now, if a user creates a folder or a file, they become the owner and also have full control of it, the domain groups have read only access so no other user can modify the files.
Now, I have found something odd, the advanced permissions on the DATA share are set to : 'Share folder owner rights - Read/Write" | " Share Folder Group Rights - Read Only" | "Share folder everyone rights- disabled" like i mentioned prior, this wasn't an issue at system implementation and these settings were working as expected prior..
I created a new share and folder, left the permissions in the readynas share setup all as default (all Read/Write) set the acls as per the link above and the group access follows the folders as expected.. when trying to change my current DATA folder setting from "domain users - read-only" to read/write it gets reset to read-only so i cant fix my issue it seems unless i recreate a share and move the data?? but that will have a detrimental effect on my replicate jobs i have set up.
I have upgraded the readynas devices from 4.2.16 to 4.2.17 since this implementation so perhaps that is where the issue came in.
