FireFly iTunes server not working with iTunes 10.5.3.3

I have been unable to get my iTunes clients on Mac or Windows to connect to the my ReadyNAS Duo (v1) and stream mp3 files.

I can see the server in the iTunes side bar, and when I click on it I get an endless "Loading iTunes Server" message in iTunes which never completes. Below is the level 9 log file on my readyNAS. I don't see anything that interesting here. I have found several postings about iTunes 10.5 breaking FireFly compatibility, with reports of 10.5.1 fixing it.

I have successfully run the Firefly Client (http://sourceforge.net/projects/fireflyclient/) which connected and streamed music (although not m4a's, only mp3's).

Does this work for anyone else? I have a vanilla network configuration, nothing strange about the file setup (all defaults), and this has just never worked.

Here is the debug log. First is up to the hang, then comes the messages after I close iTunes.

  • That did the trick! I was even looking for any sort of update for the iTunes server, but I guess I just didn't know where to look. Is there a page that I should bookmark as a first place to look?

Thank you very much for the quick (and accurate) reply.

It was a global announcement (I think) and is still in the announcements forum.

I presume the fix will probably be included in RAIDiator 4.1.9.
