First Disk Missing on ReadyNAS 204 After Boot
I've been running a ReadyNAS 204 for years without any issues. I usually keep it powered off until I need to access it. The last time I powered it on was back in June, and everything was working fine...

There's a flood of disk i/o errors in dmesg.log, systemd-journal.log, and kernel.log. Unfortunately the disk appears to have failed.
It may be telling you everything about the drive, the errors logged could be the fault of the NAS, not the drive.
Is the drive showing up in the GUI as present, just not containing a volume, or is the drive not showing at all?
When you removed and replaced the drive, did you return it to the same slot, or the empty one? Did you do it with power off or power on? If it was with power on, have you since re-booted?

FWIW, it is flooded with UNCs, not ATA errors,.
I've seen UNCs in my own logs occasionally that didn't show up as SMART errors. When I have seen this happen, it was definitely the drive, and not the NAS. I've also seen similar reports with other brands (particularly Synology).
