First time exploring ReadyCLOUD
I searched these forums for any information regarding ReadyCLOUD - the most recent thread mentioned secured/unsecured connections, but these look to be patched/resolved now. I visited https://readycloud.netgear.com/ and it appears to [now] be using an https connection.
Before I go enabling this for a remote family member to 'upload files' to my NAS, I wondered the latest thinking on security. I am no expert, and I realise the increased exposure by creating a link to the internet via ReadyCLOUD, but it seems less of a risk to port forwarding (I cannot easily establish a VPN as I currently use my ISP router - from Sky UK).
I also remember some disasters with managing users, removing from the cloud account deleted them and all data from the NAS too. A costly mistake. Is this still the case?
Can I open cloud access only to specific users/accounts, or does it open *all* users to ReadyCLOUD?

All ReadyCloud users are strictly ReadyCloud users except admin. So if someone needs both local and remote access, they either have to always use ReadyCloud, even when local to the NAS, or they need two accounts (that cannot share a home folder). I personally choose to not use ReadyCloud, but mainly because I also need remote NAS-to-NAS access, so I've chosen ZeroTier, which does not utilize your router for a VPN.
