Perhaps copy files in batches, and rescan - that might make it easier to isolate.

What files are in the folder? Just jpg?
Also, on the PC you can search the folder for all jpgs, and then right-click and select view-> "extra large icons". Scroll through the list and see if any pictures look broken.
Do you have another copy of this folder on another device? If so, you could try recreating it.
