Hello malray,
Welcome to the community!
Do you have any firewall software enabled on that computer that is getting the error message?
Maybe checking the security settings of the folder that you are trying to synch with the NAS would also help.

Hi JennC,
Windows firewall was running. Disabled it and tried again – same problem.
What measures do I need to follow to ensure the security settings are correct ?

Hi JennC,
Just did a test.
On the problem machine I logged on as the ReadyCloud user that is known to work.
This works ok. I can succesfully backup a folder on the PC. This leads me to believe any security users are RadyCloud specific and not realted to the Windows security.
So - what do I need to do to have this function on the problem ReadyCloud user account work ?
In the NAS Admin page I can clearly see the ReadyCloud user account that is being used with the ReadyCloud Windows desktop App. Just as I can see the user that works on both machines.
Look forward to your recommendations.
Many thanks

Hello malray,
Are you using 2 different ReadyCloud user accounts on the 2 computers?
Can you try using the ReadyCloud user account you used on the working one on the computer that does not? Just create a test folder on the computer and synch it with the NAS.

Yes I am using 2 accounts one per computer.
And I did successfully try your suggestion.
That was what I tried to show in the last post.Let me re-write to convey what I attempted to communicate earlier.
Adam has a PC and a ReadyCloud account - this successfully backups using the ReadyCloud App
Adam and his PC are in a remote from the NAS
Adam has an entry in the ReadyCloud users on the physical nas - his id is "adam" all lower case this is identical to the ReadyCloud account id
Brian has a PC and a ReadyCloud account - this does not backup using the ReadyCloud App
Brian and his PC are local to the NAS
Brian has an entry in the ReadyCloud users on the physical nas - his id is "Brian" mixed case - this is differs from the ReadyCloud account id which is "brian" lowercase
Brian's entry in the ReadyCloud users on the physical nas has a key symbol in the icon (I guess this signifies is an Administrator ?)
On Brian's PC when Adam logs on to the App everything is OK and works well - just the same as Adam on Adam's machine.
I mention the case sensitivity as I have no idea if this is an issue or not. But it is the only obvious inconstency I can see.
Thanks for your attention
