Getting Error 0x80070027: Disk is full
Hi I just installed my ReadyNAS NV+ V2. I'm trying to copy all my music from my PC to the NAS, but I'm getting the error message 0x80070027 all the time and when I just push try again it continues withou problems. Every time I do something on my PC like starting a new program or a simple command i get this error. I also get it when not doing anything else on my computer, just letting the copyjob run.
Its rather frustrating, I cant sit and babywatch the copy job for like 60Gb of data.
My 2x 2TB disks are newly installed and completely empty, so its not the space. In addition i think the copy process is rather slow, im just getting 9 Mb/sec. So is there a way to improve this in addition to an errorfree copy?

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserWhat version of Windows are you running?
- bjorngAspirantIm running Windows 7 64 bit
- bjorngAspirantAfter a bit more testing this problem only occurs when copying a large amount of mp3 files or jpeg files, which are rather small in size. When i copy movies (X264 mkv format) which are like 1,1 GB each i dont get any errors at all. In addition I also tried copying a folder of pictures while copying the movies at the same time, no errors occured. As soon as I canceled the movie copyjob and kept the picture copy going, I got the error message instanly after the cancel. It looked like it came when the speed increaed on the picture copyjob.
So is this a kind of overflow error? Cant the NAS keep up when copying lots of smaller files? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserWell, it is a Windows error, not a NAS error. However NAS performance is slower when writing small files (large file transfers are more efficient).
If you are comfortable with command line entry, you might look into robocopy. It is a Microsoft program (part of windows) that does robust file copying. - XhypoAspirantWell, I have the excact same problem and I'd say it's a NAS problem becuase it only occurs when copying to the NAS. This should definitly not happend and I hope there will be a fix to this. I'm also running Win7 64bit.
*Edit
I've now tried robocopy. The problem definitely persist, but robocopy "solves" the problem by waiting 30 seconds and then tries again until the files copy. But this is a dirty quickfix and should not be necessary to do. I really hope somebody can look into this. - bjorngAspirantI tried Robocopy as well, and it seems to "work".
I still get the message "Disk is full" from robocopy and it just waits for 30 sec and then continues. The problem is that this occurs on every 10-20th file, so it takes forever to copy my 60GB of music data to the NAS.
It feels like this is a NAS problem even though it is a windows message. If this cant be fixed in any better way than using robocopy (which still isnt a fix), i think this NAS is being returned very fast.
Will this problem occur on any ReadyNAS when running Windows 7? I just wanna know which i can change to which dont have this problem. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserI've never seen it with the NV+ v1, DUO v1 or Pro 6.
- bjorngAspirantI sent this question to Netgear support as well, and they told me to try other settings for MTU on my NIC.
I couldnt find any settings for MTU on my NIC so I changed to Jumbo Frames instead. I tried both 4088 and 9014 which was the 2 i had available. Both settings result in no error messages while copying, so that solved the frustrating problem.
However, my transmission rate is still only 8 MB/sec which i think is rather slow. When I connected the NAS directly to my PC i got 22 MB/sec.
Anyone know how to improve the rate? I'm using a Jensen Airlink 89300 as router to my NAS. - sphardy1Apprentice

There's your issue - Ethernet ports are limited to 100 Mbps. (Translates to 10MBps max in practice) Upgrade your router or invest in a gigabit switch

I got the same error when copying a large file (4,5GB mkv file) from a USB stick inserted directly into the NAS itself. Front port.
I'm kind if frustrated here. This failure render my NAS unusable. :(
