Hard to open drive bay on ReadyNAS NV+

I had to replace one of the 4 drives two months ago. For the life of me, I could not depress the button enough to get the lever to pop out. I ended up using a 11/32 inch nut driver and applied far, far too much pressure. But it worked. This morning, the same thing with a different drive. I know that I upgraded all 4 drives a few years ago, and had no problems at all.

What did I do wrong?

Inserting something at point B works best for me. The pushpin into "A" often requires a lot of force (and I have bent the pushpin trying it).

Also, there are newer trays with a square latch (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detai ... pro-series) that work much better. However you do need to be careful that you get one for the pro/nv+ line - the rack mount trays, and the new RN1xx/RN3xx/RN5xx trays are not compatible.

I recall last time I tried the "A" method unsuccessfully. That is why I reverted to brute (what little I have) strength. I am unsure if the tray has properly locked, but I have received no messages since the last sync started. (It took me a few times to properly seat the tray.) We shall see…..
