Update
After several reboots of Duo and mac things changed, then back to the same.
Changed some ethernet cables around and after a reboot the discs were back to showing 90% in Frontview again. So maybe the data is still there, but just can't be accessed.
Then a couple of reboots later trying to toggle CIFS on and off, Frontview showed 0% on discs again. And CIFS refuses a connection whever it's selected in Frontview or not. In fact I unselected AFP and CIFS, rebooted. Then selected AFP and CIFS and Frontview recognised the selection of AFP, but not CIFS.
Changed the ethernet cable from Duo to router. No change. Maybe the ethernet port on Duo is messed up.
Rebooted and then got flashing blue light. So now completely useless.
Duo just getting progressively worse.
Google flashing blue light and found link to re-flash firmware via usb. Does anyone think this might be a solution?
Or my Duo is just knackered?
