Help for home folders and sharing connections

Good morning, i hope that some guru here can help me, because after a lot of search i was not able to find a solution. I have a READYNAS 102 OS 6.4.2, FlexyRaid Nas has 1 user, XXX Nas has 3 shared folder, call them AAA,BBB,CCC. With SMB, folders have read/write for admin, read only for XXX, and no other permission. 1° problem When i MAP network folders in windows, no problem, because winidow ask me for a path (IP\Share). But i have found that exploring the NAS with other applications, example is X-PLORE android, i can connect the NAS even without any logonid nor password. Of course AAA, BBB, CCC are not accessible, but i can connect and see my shared structure. Is there a way to avoid this? I'd like that the NAS ask me for user/passward ALWAYS if no anonymous access is allowed. This could be a security problem. 2° problem I do not want home folder, so, how can i disable this feature? Or, if this is not possible, how can i prevent user XXX to write in his Home/XXX folder? In Shares/Shares i cannot see any "home folder", so i can set any permissions In Shares/Browse, i can see all the subfolders, and io have the possibility so access options, BUT HOME icon is not like the other folders, and on it i have only the option to browse (with no effect) and nothing else. Hope someone can help, Regards, Luciano

    Hi LucianoBrentana,

I just tested it and it seems like the phone uses SMB for LAN server access to the ReadyNAS. I got the same behavior (which is normal; same with PC or Windows) just like what you have experienced. The contents or the folders won't be accessible if permission is set on the said share (folder) or if anonymous access is not enabled.

    Kind regards,

    Hi LucianoBrentana,

    Welcome to the community!

What are the file sharing protocols enabled in your ReadyNAS? With regard to disabling home share, kindly check this article.

Hello Brian, many thanks. I had the NAS set for Italian Language, and there the Home Folder seemed to me like something of administration, so i didn't touch anything. Setup for English, it's now ckear, anything disabled and no more access, thanks. About protocol, there are enabled just DLNA and SMB regards, mario
