It is almost that easy (since the RMA replacement will also be a sparc-based system).
First put in a scratch disk (by itself), and go through a factory install. If the NAS is running a different firmware version then your old one, then install your firmware on it manually. (you can google site:readynas.com for the firmware download if you need it).
Then power down the NAS, remove the scratch disk, and insert your current drives into the same slots they were in before. Turn it on, and you should be good to go.
