Thanks for the response so my Ready Nas Duo v2 is not defunct?

It is my understanding that the email was sent to all users with End-Of-Life (EOL) ReadyNAS units regardless of whether the particular End of Life unit was one that runs 4.2.28 or not.

Might be, but I have 3 EOL NAS, and I didn't get it.
It shouldn't have been sent that broadly anyway, given the confusion here from users who don't have x86 legacy NAS.

I agree.

Sorry, I think my ReadyNAS v2 was EOL when I first purchased it, 3 years ago. It's slow, so I can't reliably use it for my intended purposed of a network drive for home use. It never had a Print Server, major disappointment. The Photo service was always slow and poor (although the best feature I got out of it), etc. etc.
So, time to start looking for a new NAS. Well, it was time 2 years ago.
In my opinion.
