Help with drive failure
Hi, I had a power supply failure on my ReadyNAS NV+ (I'm now on my third power supply). In the process, I apparently lost one of my disks. My raid array is not coming up. Would some kind soul be wi...

With your fresh backup I'd do that to a different USB disk (or at least first check the USB disk to make sure that wasn't the drive that was reported to have ATA errors).
The OS Re-install resets the root/admin passwords and some network settings but leaves most config intact. It would of course have reinstalled the OS putting stuff like the /frontview directory back.
Easy enough to check to see if it's worked (can you access Frontview again? Can you see missing stuff back when you look via SSH)
A factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) would wipe the disks and do a clean install of the OS with a new volume.
After you've done a backup it might be a good time to buy some new disks, power down, remove your old array (label order), put the new disks in, do a factory default and restore data from backup.
