How long should backing up to USB take?

Fast USB writes would help a lot. This option is on the v1 only
I'd recommend changing the backup job properties to use Rsync for the incremental backups (you can see instructions e.g. on my website).
Are you sure you have the v2? What version of RAIDiator is on the NAS? Is your NAS silver (v1) or charcoal (v2) in colour?
