How long should ReadyNas NV+ take to be ready when "Factory Default Settings"

Recently the ReadyNas NV+ unit with 4 x 500GB hdds went into "Booting..." after a power outage without actually  booting.

I decided to do a reset Factory Default Settings after my attempts at "Reinstall OS" did not complete afte 7 days running. I tested and cleared all the 4 HDDs off another PC thru the Management MMC panel.

How long would it take to finish the task? Am asking because it has been about 2 days now with only the power led  fast flashing visible.

TIA

Bill

Upon checking the LED documentation it seems apparent the PSU might be the culprit.

Something definitely is wrong, but I'm not seeing how you are reaching that particular conclusion.

    Can you explain?

By elimination process that was the only plausible reason for the condition...

You could try doing a factory reset with only one disk installed.  That would reduce the load on the PSU, so if it is marginal it might tell you something.

TQ StephenB - Please accept my apologies for this belated post/response as I had to travel overseas on a job assignment at short notice hence was unable to get back to this until 2 weeks ago.

I tried the single disk and all worked well - thereafter I redid the process with 2 disks at once and kept on adding back each harddisk one at a time and when all 4 were running and all seems to have worked for the next 3 days I shut down and started looking for a replacement PSU and was even willing to use a used one.

I was very lucky in being able to obtain a brand new replacement PSU from eBay and since then the unit has been refurbished and back in service again. I wasn't taking any chances so decided I might as well replace the PSU.

Thankyou for your guidance and directions without which I would not have been able to resolve the issue successfully!

    Cheers

    Bill

Yes the "No Disk" error popped up when it was diskless.

However when running RAIDiator though it detects the IP address of the NV+ unit, it says that "Refused Connection". So I replaced the 4 x 500GB HDDs back and restarted the unit and it went into Booting... Please wait and then that too went on forever.

Next I tried "Re-installing OS" and that came up with "Reinstalling FW Please Wait...." message and that has been going on now for almost 3 hours. How long should this take?
