How to make the NAS completely open

It seems that if you followed my instructions to the letter there should be no problems but you said that you CIFS does not have the same options listed that may be the cause of your problems.
You also said that you are using ReadyNas Remote which is a different issue all together.
I recommend starting a Technical Support online submission you can use the link in my signature to go there. Post back here you case number. And post the solution if it is related. I suspect you may need a Frimware reinstall NOT A FACTORY DEFAULT. Make sure your data is backed up prior to doing the Firmware reinstall to the nas.
