How to set iSCSI CHAP Username with OS6
Hi. I upgraded my Ready NAS Pro 4 to Ready OS6 (thanks to Netgear, great support!!!) and like to use CHAP on my iSCSI connection to a debian VM. Before with OS4 I can set a username bit with OS6 ...

Hi augur,
The username is the same as the local system initiator name set by your iSCSI initiator or the one's set under the IQN (initiator name). Try that and tell me if that works.
Kind regards,BrianL

Hi Brian,
I read this article before but it is for windows only. But perhaps you can comment the following:
This are the settings I have to enter in webmin to setup CHAP. What is the username shown here? In OS4 I have to enter name and password. In OS6 the username is missing. Or is it perhaps same as the IQN?
Cheers,
Nils

Hi.
Connected successfully with CHAP. :-) During my test I used also bidirectional CHAP authentification (second missconfiguration) but also now with your hint for the username it is working fine again.
Thanks a lot!
