Install trouble

I just received my Duo V2. Turned it on with a WD Green 1.5 TB WD15EARS and found Corrupt Boot in the RAIDar program. Turned it off and removed the disk and booted again. Now it said No disks detected, but wouldn't let me into setup. Tried accessing through the browser using the correct IP, but could not access. Tried to ping the IP with 100% loss. Tried to factory reset, with no change in behavior. Tried to boot using OS reinstall option, but nothing changes. Also tried to click the "Locate" button in RAIDar, but no LEDs flash on my unit. There is a blue light (not flashing) in front of my unit in RAIDar. And the Model comes up as --.

What to do next? DOA?

Comments highly appreciated! Thanks..

  • Ok. I'll give it a try. This unit was a replacement for an older Zyxel unit I had before, so the disks cannot be returned. I have a mini-itx based system ready to ship from a store online, and I think I'll move over to FreeNAS, as it will probably accept the disks.
  • I too encountered the "Shares not available" problem, right after setting up a new NV+ v2 with new disks.
The problem suddenly disappeared later. The only thing I have done in between was installing the "ReadyNAS remote" add-in.

After disabling the "ReadyNAS remote" add-in the shares are still available.

It confuses me but maybe this information enables someone else to help you with your problem.
