iTunes. NV+ V2 4bay's
Hi all. I just got my first NAS. I read on the Netgear website about the device before I both it and noted it had a iTunes Server but I can't find how to turn the iTunes server on the NAS. Dose th...
There is several benefits (to me anyway).
1. an 8GB iPod touch is quickly filled. My 4TB NAS takes a while.
2. it's easier to manage one library centrally.
3. I want to stream to iDevices and non-iDevices, i.e. wireless speakers.
4. My NAS is always on, 24/7, my PC isn't. Not to mention, I'd rather not have iTunes running the whole time.
5. I have several PCs - iTunes server cane help here, or DLNA (which seems weak in comparison).
I have reviewed several DLNA / music apps, and I personally prefer the built-in music player in my iPod for ease of use, listings, album arts, etc. I realise this is personal choice. I also see that other NAS vendors (i.e. Synology) are adding AirPlay, which solves streaming to speakers. Now I need to find a good way to stream to an iDevice too.
