I've found it - The Ultimate ReadyNAS companion! AeroFS :)
Like many of us here, I've acquired a few ReadyNAS boxes over the years... And a few laptops, and a few desktops, and a WHS..... and...... you get the picture.....
Well, I was thinking this evening, wouldn't it be great if I could have the "Dropbox" like sync between several NAS shares, or folders on my mac, or folders on my win7 machine all together. I know you can obviously do this with dropbox, but what if I don't want to sync my 1TB to the cloud, hell, what If i want it on a private LAN with no internet connection, what if I'm a cheap bas@£%% who wants to do this all for free? That got me searching, and searching, and searching some more..............
I eventually came across these guys "AeroFS" - It's basically a Dropbox client without the need to sync to the cloud - It works over P2P, either over the internet or over your local network! SHWEET!!
They even have Windows, Mac, and Linux installers!!!!! But here's the catch.... I know nothing about Linux, and am Poop scared of breaking my NAS :)
Anyone willing to help me try install this?
Totally amped!

- sorenfriisAspirantI would be surprised if they have a SPARC compiled client (for the DUO, NV+ etc) and I don't think it's open source. At least I can't find the source anywhere.
But the idea is excellent! I would really like such a client on my NAS!!
Regards - WhoCares_MentorYou could try GlusterFS (www.gluster.org). It's available as open source and should work on the Sparc boxes as well.
-Stefan - LrdShaperAspirantGood find. I already signed up hoping it's not limited to X86
- GurutekAspirantThanks Stefan - I had a quick look at Gluster, but it looks like too much app for my needs. I love the simplicity of Dropbox, and AeroFS effectively mirrors that simplicity - Now to get it working on the ReadyNAS......
- super_poussinVirtuosoI'm waiting hope I will have an invite
Super-Poussin
If you like my add-ons please donate :) - GurutekAspirantHi Super-Poussin
Did you get my invite? - dchoe1Aspirant@gurutek: do you have any additional invite?
- Wrong. My mistake.
:neener: - GurutekAspirantAnyone managed to get this working yet?
- Got my invite yesterday.
So, has anybody had a go at setting AeroFS up yet, and if so, how did it go?
