Jbod and adding a disk
Hi folks. Currently have a Readynas 102 with a single disk in JBOD mode. When I add a disk, will it treat it as a separate volume? Or will it span both disks?
Ok, if you add a disk now, it will be used for redundancy. Clicking on the Xraid icon will switch to where you will have the other options. This is one of the issues with 2 disk devices, redundancy will always mean losing half of your disk capacity. With 4 bay systems you have more options when it comes to expansion too.
