LEDs are blinking at constant rapid speed without any code indication
Hi guys, I am looking for some solution as search does not show anything like I am experiencing. I have this NAS setup and running for years. Never had any problems with it apart from yesterday. T...

Power up the NAS w/o the drives, and install RAIDar on a PC. See if it finds the NAS and reports a "no disks" status. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads#raidar
Thanks for a suggestion. I have tried it already and it cannot be found even when the system is plugged directly to a laptop with an ethernet cable. The ethernet LED at the back seems to show its active status but the nas not resposding to pings. Its IP is set to be fixed so I do not beleive even that part is working.
I have tried to keep it unpowered for the whole night. In the morning when I plug it it is doing the same with LEDs.
I have also tried otherwise(left it powered for hours) hopping it may just trying booting up. Nope, not a fix.

There is a bit of change in LED statuses so I guess I'll need to let others know in order to find a fix.
After leaving the system for another 5 hours unpowered and powering it again it now has only one power LED flashing at a slower speed than before. So the frequency of flashing is different from before.
Backup LED is now OFF all the time which is different from a previous state. With all previous attempts it was ON straight after powering and usually started flashing at the same speed as a power one with a delay of 1-2 once powered.
With no disks in the bays Act LED is OFF but once I install at least one disk Act LED turns ON with solid light(not flashing). The same as before.
Also a much bigger change is the system now can be found on LAN with Raidar. However it shows a wrong IP address(192.1.168.168) which seems to be not coming from any DHCP. The fixed IP that was setup in the system should be 192.168.1.7
192.168.168.168 is not responding to pings. Raidar can see system details such as firmware, serial number etc but always says it is diskless no matter if the HDDs are in their bays or not.

Do you have a spare disk you can test with? (removing the real disks, and inserting just the spare in the NAS). Best to label the disks by slot as you remove them.
One possibility is that the SATA hardware in the NAS has failed. That isn't repairable. But it is also possible that a failed disk is bringing down the SATA bus.

It seems I have no otherr working HDDs to check my ReadyNas. when it is left for days power on now it just keeps flashing power button alone.
Can anybody point to a simpe solution to connect drives to a desktop and copy the files from these disks?
I have given both HDDs to a local IT company that claims to know Linux telling them I am happy to pay $100 to get a few files out. They came back a day later saying they could see disks but they cannot see any files. And added they'd need to receover them and it would cost me more. To be honest I do not trust it and it looks like they more likely want much more realising it is for a business.- StephenBFeb 03, 2022Guru - Experienced User

Even if it is too expensive, it'd be good to download it (w/o paying) and see if it can find your data. Note you'd need to purchase to copy it off.
