Less functionality streaming to Samsung TV from NAS than USB
Hi!
When streaming video from my NAS Ultra 2 to Samsung Smart-TV UE40ES5505K, thru my home network, there is less functionality available to manage the movies when I'm watching them on the TV than when I stream the same files from an external harddisk connected to the TV:s usb port.
An ordinary MPEG2 movie lacks the function where you can see snapshots from scenes (found under the TV:s tools menue). Furthermore when trying the Forward and Rewind buttons they are "not available".
My DV movies, which I have downloaded and converted into MPEG2 files, lacks even more features.
The function "Timeseek" where you can choose which part of the movie you want to see (also found under the TV:s tools menue) isn't an option possible to choose.
The Samsung support refers the problem to be within the NAS box.
The NAS has the latest firmware 4.2.22.
I would very much appreciate some idéas.
Could it be a firmware bug?
Best Regards
Ivan

Either way, DLNA will have different functionality than playing the files on a the USB port. In my experience, DLNA usually offers a worse user experience.
