"Memory Error" when trying to upgrade default ReadyNAS 314 to 8GB of RAM
I've been trying to upgrade my ReadyNAS 314 for two weeks, trying a total of 3 different RAMs that all ended with an immediate "Memory Error when it gets plugged back in. As far as I am aware the default RAM is a
Innodisk 2GB DDR3 1333 SODIMM M3SW-2GHJCCN9-E
- DDR3 (not DDR3L)
- 1333 MHz (PC3-10600)
- 2Rx8 (Dual Rank, 8-bit width)
- Non-ECC
- 1.5V
so I would just need to match all those specs just with an 8GB of RAM but that doesn't seem to work. I'm looking for any help in upgrading this NAS to 8GB and possible different RAMs to try. Here is a picture of the the default RAM:
The other RAMs I tried were:
1. Samsung 8GB PC3L-12800S DDR3-1600 2RX8 Non-ECC SODIMM Memory M471B1G73DB0-YK0 (Not sure why it didn't work)
2.Crucial RAM 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz CL11 Laptop Memory CT102464BF160B (Ended up being a DDR3L)
3. Kingston KCP316SD8/8 8gb 1600mhz Sodimm Mem (Maybe because of 16000mhz when original is 1333)

I believe the atom processor is limited to 4 GB modules.
