Migrating disks between RN104 and RN204
May I ask?
I have RN104 with 4x3TB WD RED (xraid, raid 5 FW 6.4.0). I'm thinking of buying news RN204 unit.
Is it possible to migrate all disks from old RN104 to new RN204 unit without formatting and recopying data?
Yes.
1. Put a scratch disk (must not be from your array) into the 204
2. Update the firmware on the 204 to 6.4.0
3. Verify the firmware update was successful
4. Power down, remove the scratch disk
5. Move your disks across from the 104 to the 204 (keep the order the same).
