missing available disk space - after drive upgrade
This doesn't seem right... our NAS currently has the following drives 6TB+4TB+4TB+4TB+3TB+2TB = 23TB OS 6.2.1 RN716X RAID-5 with X-RAID2 but the available storage is only 14TB - so we are miss...

setup #1
RN716X - Here are the current drives
#1 2TB ST32000644NS
#2 3TB Hitachi HDS723030ALA640
#3 6TB WDC WD60EFRX-68MYMNO
#4 4TB ST4000VN000-1H4168 (JUST DIED TODAY)
#5 4TB ST4000VN000-1H4168
#6 4TB ST4000VN000-1H4168
Drive #4 just Died today.... I am thinking of ordering 3 of the 6TB WD60EFRX - Replace the bad drive first... let it resync/rebuild etc ... then slowly replace the 2TB & 3TB (move them to the other Pro Nas) with 6TB so it would look like
setup #2
it would look like
#1 6TB WD60EFRX
#2 6TB WD60EFRX
#3 6TB WD60EFRX
#4 6TB WD60EFRX
#5 4TB ST4000VN000
#6 4TB ST4000VN000
I guess this runs into the 24TB limit
- I don't remember what this RN716X NAS Actually started with... (it could have started with just 2 x 250GB Drives etc) from an NV+ - then as we were able to pull data off the 2 older NAS devices and move everything over the 716.... slowly replacing or add with 500GB drives or 750GB then replacing them ... until it looked like setup #1 above
Sounds like what I need to do at this point is: get the RN716X to match the setup#2 above.... move the 2TB & 3TB over to the older Business Pro... replacing it's 1TB drives.. then factory reset that box (it has no data) move those 1TB drives over to the NV+ Factory reset it.. then Rsync (or if the Pro is not large enough by itself ) manually data backup backup 716 over to the Pro / NV+ - so 716 is empty ... then Factory Reset it.... move the data to the 716 - sell the NV+ and eventually use the Pro as a backup of the 716 - then call Seagate & see if they will replace the defective 4TB Drive (probably take 1HR+ on the phone with Seagate support & 2+ Weeks Shipping) then throw that new 4TB into the Pro replacing one of the 1.5TB drives.. WOW... Lots of Work :D
is there any way to view the actual layers that exist on the NAS Currently?
