The OS reinstall should just take a couple of minutes.
If you planning to do a factory reset anyway, you can simply turn off the NAS and start that again.
Though I'd install RAIDar on a PC, and check the NAS status with that first. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads

Uninstalled previous version of Raidar and installed new version but it cannot find the NAS albeit it's on and connected.

Can you access the web UI and the shares?
I suggest looking at the disk smart stats (download the log zip and look disk_info.log).

Hi,
this morning I managed to get using the WebUI and also the shares carried out a firmware update. Before I could enter the shares but not all teh folders. I tried again a few minutes ago and it looks as if now I can access all the folders even those which were previously inaccessible. I am enclosing the requested logs. I am suspecting that the problem was somehow fixed after months trying to solve it. You might find something in the logs but apparently I cannot attach a zip file but here is teh shareable link: <redacted link>
