I restarted NAS again and this time round managed to show up and Rair dar found it and is marking as healthy. I clicked diagnostics and got the following result:

Can you access the web UI and the shares?
I suggest looking at the disk smart stats (download the log zip and look disk_info.log).

Hi,
this morning I managed to get using the WebUI and also the shares carried out a firmware update. Before I could enter the shares but not all teh folders. I tried again a few minutes ago and it looks as if now I can access all the folders even those which were previously inaccessible. I am enclosing the requested logs. I am suspecting that the problem was somehow fixed after months trying to solve it. You might find something in the logs but apparently I cannot attach a zip file but here is teh shareable link: <redacted link>

Hi jdou,
Please do not post your logs publicly since there some information there that should not be disclosed publicly. You may just PM the links to the NETGEAR mods nest time if we requested it.
Regarding the issue on the NAS, it appears that it already has a file system corruption. I see a lot of this message on kernel.log
BTRFS error (device md127): bad tree block start 16128832205675150423 19789628112896
It will be best to reset the NAS to factory default and restore from backup when you get 'bad tree block start'. Please try resetting the NAS to factory default. Based on the logs, factory reset was not done yet.
