NAS Rn104
Hello There,
i am looking to purchase a NAS RN104, and was wondering i have several hard drives with data on then and when installing them into the nas drive will the data remain and be useable
or will the Nas have to reformat the drive to read them.
The current Drive i have are in NTFS file format and i dont want to loose the data that is on them when i put them into the nas.
And also is it possible to have them as 4 seperate drives?
Thanks in advance
Peter
The NAS will need to format the disks so make sure your backup is up to date first.
Yes, if you disable X-RAID and destroy (wipes all data) the default volume you can create a separate volume for each disk.
When you are using a separate volume for each disk it is even more important than it would be otherwise to regularly backup. With non-redundant volumes if a disk fails, you will lose all the data on the volume using that disk.
