Compared with other protocols, rsync speed is quicker, it is recommended to use this protocol.

I also recommend rsync for NAS-NAS backup. Note that with legacy NAS like the v1 the transfer speed on a full backup is actually slower than SMB or NFS. But the incremental backups run much faster.

Both your old NAS and the new OS-6 NAS have a built-in back-up capability. The web admin interface includes a GUI for them, and rsync is one of the of the protocols you can choose.

I followed the directions (https://kb.netgear.com/29741/How-do-I-back-up-data-between-two-ReadyNAS-OS-6-systems-using-the-backup-manager) but when I go to step 9, there was an additional box that asked for a PORT. If you don't fill in a port, the test box is not active. Just to get past that, I tried "80" and it accepted it and the test was succesful. When I went to run the backup I got an error. See attached screen shots. I ahve 2 ReadyNAS 314s each has 3 6TB drives. Windows 10 PC. The firmware on both is 6.9.1.
