net use iscsi - access denied

I have an RNDP2210 unit with 1 iSCSI target and 2 LUNS defined. From a Windows box, I am trying a

net use n: \\<ip.address.of.nas>\c /user:admin

Where <ip> is one of the ip's on one of the adapters. Both adapters are on the same segment and subnet.

I am getting an error "system error 5 has occurred. access is denied." after entering the same admin password I use to access the web interface.

  • Uh?

    - You started the thread stating your iSCSI setup (and post in the iSCSI forum)
    - You reference a problem that appears to be CIFS related (despite the thread title)
    - But when asked about that you respond stating you can access shares over HTTPS

It would really help if you could be a little more clear & restate your setup

When entering "net use n: \\<ip.address.of.nas>\c /user:admin" do you get asked for a password? Are you logged into your Windows machine as the user "admin"? Have your recently changed the admin password on the NAS?

Bottom line - access is being denied which is typically a password issue, or it could be this: http://home.bott.ca/webserver/?p=275
  • Umm, huh? This doesn't seem like an iSCSI issue at all, so not only is the topic confusing, but the contents of the first post are as well. Can you please clarify exactly what the issue is for us?
