Netgear is clearly exiting their ReadyNAS business - all of the various models are now end-of-life.

If I were looking for a new turnkey NAS now, I'd start with

Asustor
QNAP
Synology

These are not in preference order - and I don't own any - so this is just a starting point.

I'd also consider getting a USB-C or Thunderbolt enclosure, and connect that to an always-on PC.

I’m pretty sure I’d upgraded to OS6 a year or so back.

Thanks for the suggestions. Someone recommended the HP MicroServer line, something like the Gen8, Gen10 Plus (v2)

OS-6 uses the BTRFS file system. You can manually mount the data volume in a linux system that has both MDADM and BTRFS installed.

The other option is to use data recovery software that supports BTRFS - for example ReclaiMe

    A used replacement ReadyNAS is also at least a temporary solution. Since you were running OS6, you can use a legacy NAS upgraded to OS6 or a native OS6 NAS. Note that your current caddies will fit in either (except rack mount models) -- which is good since a lot of used ones sell without them. (The opposite is not true, BTW.) Your PSU will also work with any 2-bay ReadyNAS.
